Founders

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew A. Dominick founded Melody Pines in 1951. Since then the camp has grown tremendously under the leadership of their family members.

Melody Pines is proud of its mature and capable staff. The camp staff consists of approximately 65 individuals, including Assistant Directors, Waterfront Directors, Nurse/EMT, Senior Counselors, Junior Counselors, and Counselors in Training. On any given year 95-100% of our staff is comprised of former MPDC campers and more than half are certified lifeguards!

Our Senior Counselors are most often students aspiring toward a career with children as teachers, nurses, etc. All are thoroughly screened as the safety, well-being, and happiness of your children are at heart.

Our Junior Counselors and Counselors in Training are typically individuals who have been with us through their childhood years and whom, as teenagers, we feel are responsible and have a genuine interest in the happiness of children. We work with these young adults to develop the necessary skills to become future counselors.

Thank you for your interest in working at Melody Pines!

At Melody Pines, we begin our hiring process in January and try to have all counselor and counselor-in-training positions filled by early March. 95-100% of our counselor-in-training positions (those entering grades 9 and 10) are hired out to former campers and the majority of our counselor positions are hired out to counselors-in-training.
